On the afternoon of the biggest snow storm of the year, December 6th to be exact, my boyfriend picked me up from a hard days work at 1pm that Saturday afternoon. I knew we were going to go on a date that night, and had been praying for good enough weather so we wouldn't have to cancel our plans. (He picked me up in a suit, and was looking quite sharp!) The plan was to pick me up and bring me back to my dorm room, so I could begin getting ready for our dinner date. But to my surprise when he picked me up, he had a change of plans. I was all gruby from work that morning, but he said that it was so pretty outside with the freshly fallen snow that he wanted to go for a walk before he brought me back to my room. I hesitated a little but then thought that a nice relaxing walk would be good. He drove us over to a little parkish area up behind the building he lived in, and we went for a walk in the snow. It was so beautiful with the snow covered trees and landscape. Being the playful and sort of flirty girl I am, I began throwing snow balls at him, and taunting him to join in. He replied, "I don't want to get my hands cold." He just stood there and smiled at me in his nice clothes. Then, I kept throwing snow at him, and eventually he decided to join in, and he proceeded to throw me into the snow, playfully I might add. But to my surprise, just before falling into the cold wet snow, he pulled me up, and twisted me around to face him. He looked deep into my eyes and held my face with his hands. He then told me, "Alicia, ever since I met you, my life changed forever. And there hasn't been one moment that I would have changed for world. Ever since I first laid eyes on you, I knew you were the girl for me." Then he proceeded to get down on his knee, meanwhile tears are building up in the corners of my eyes, and I have a grin from ear to ear. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a little white box. He opened it and looked up at me and said, "Alicia, will you marry me?" I then burst out with an answer of, "Oh My God, of COURSE I'll marry you!" I was crying and smiling so hard my face hurt. I then hugged him, while he was still on his knee in the cold, wet, snow. I squeezed him so tight, that he was afraid that the ring was going to fall out of the box. He embraced me but pulled away, so that he could slip the most gorgeous engagement ring on my finger. That night we roughed the weather, to tell our parents of this joyous occaison, who were waiting to hear my response, since they were asked for my hand a mear 2 weeks before.
