A couple years ago we were out in RI where my family has a summer house and it was during the winter we were out to breakfast with some friends and they were talking about going to see a lighthouse out in Jamestown RI. Michael my boyfriend at the time had recently since we’ve been dating started to collect lighthouse figures and we had them as decoration around our house so going to see a lighthouse was something we both were interested in. We left and went to see the lighthouse right after breakfast it was freezing out and the ride seemed to last forever as we drove through these windy roads we thought we were lost but then we drove out the farthest point in Jamestown and came to this beautiful lighthouse called Beavertail Lighthouse. It was windy but we had to check it our we fell in love with the rocks and the water and how we could see Newport RI and the bridge. It was breath taking.

Memorial Day weekend came and it was a beautiful day we were laying out on our porch getting some sun, me taking a nap and Michael turned to me and said want to go for a ride I said sure he said how about the lighthouse. I’ve been wanting to go back but said it needed to bee warmer out. I thought it was a perfect day. We drove to Jamestown and walked along the rocks there were a few people around and the seagulls were flying I was climbing on the rocks trying to get as close as I could to the birds but Michael said come sit down and lets enjoy the water. I wanted to take pictures and play on the rocks but decided to sit. So I walked over to him and found the perfect sitting rock and sat down we were joking about how perfect the rocks were for a seat. Me still looking at the birds and the water all of a sudden saw Michael kneeling on one knee in front of me and he asked me to marry him. I said yes in an instant and we cried and hug and he slipped the beautiful ring on my finger. We were so excited the first person I saw was a lady in a red coat and I ran up to her and told her what had just happened she blessed us and took a picture. It was beautiful. I have the picture on my desk at work and through wedding planning we decided to have our wedding ceremony at Beavertail Lighthouse so that whenever we wanted to visit our special place we could.
